Very smooth on Ubuntu 12.04 64bit with Geforce GTX 570m (mobile graphics).
Console spits messages like this out from time to time:
Could not load ./World/Masks/Growth 0.png
Could not load ./World/Tilesets/Null Tileset.png

Are the demo savegames compatible to the full version?
