[Adventure/Horror]The John DeFoe Series
« on: May 12, 2009, 01:47:44 »
Description:The John DeFoe Games are an excellent series of adventure-horror games. The story revolves around the mindless, violent, wraith John DeFoe and the mysteries surrounding him and his past. Another significant character in the series is the cat burglar Trilby, who is one of the first to encounter John DeFoe's spirit. The games are all point-and click, with the exception of Trilby's Notes, which uses text commands. The order in which the games are intended to be played is: 5 Days a Stranger, 7 Days a Skeptic, Trilby's Notes, 6 Days a Sacrifice. Chronologically, the games are: 5 Days, Notes, 6 Days, 7 Days.

Download:
5 Days a Stranger
7 Days a Skeptic
Trilby's Notes
6 Days a Sacrifice

EDIT: Fixed chronological order. Thanks, goog.

They certainly are great. There's also a spin-off Splinter Cell-esque Trilby game called The Art of Theft. Not sure how / if it connects to the storyline or chronology.

It's a quasi-prequel. It shares its protagonist with two of the main series games, but there isn't anything in the game that relates directly to the main series beyond that. (It could be called Trilby Gaiden.)
good bye

Actually, 5 Days, Notes, 7 Days, 6 days.

No. 5 Days happens in the 1990s; Notes happens several years later, and is a direct sequel; 7 Days happens about 400 years later; 6 Days happens 196 years after 5 Days and 196 years before 7 Days, which is a crucial plot point.
good bye

These certainly are great games - some of my favorites.  I'd go so far to say that they're some of the best point-and-click games ever.  And this is one of the only game series to completely and genuinely creep me out.  (that's why they're fun  C)p)

Best played in order, best played midnight or later.

Also, the spin-off is very entertaining and fun too, even though it isn't creepy.

I dont know but from watching DC's lets plays and some internet searching the order of the games must be played like this:

5 day, 7 days, tribly's notes and last 6 days...
