Title: [Challenge] [Small] [Very Hard] [KS+] Ride the Train to Beck
Post by: Lucinda on July 06, 2023, 07:19:30
At some juncture, pie_sniper and I realized we live 1.5 hours from one another, and that his brother lives in my city. So while he was staying at his brother's house for a weekend, we decided to meet up in real life and make a Knytt level in a very short amount of time. We ended up spending three days on it, not including a brainstorming session the day before. The work was completed at a coffee shop, my apartment, and remotely.
The plot involves Juni taking a train around town to rescue an escaped animal from the zoo. The animal is named Beck because there was a song by Beck playing on the speakers while we were brainstorming.

This is really cute little level. I love how someone finally used the Anderson's train and station tilesets and that you actually get to ride the train. It was made in a few days so it feel really spontaneous and quirky but there are so many little details that show than even in a such short time the authors really put a lot of work into it

i wish getting the secret ending wasn't annoying to get if you missed it because you have to relaunch the level every time you do... other than that it was pretty good for a small collab level!

Three days, huh? I can hardly decide what part of a level I want to work on in three days. X)
