Title: The Game of Anagrams
Post by: Fubaka on March 29, 2013, 06:31:18
Haldo, friendly and radiant people of the Nifflas Support Forum.  I would like to introduce a new game for us to play!  It's a game about anagrams, and decoding them!

The gist of the game is this:

The first poster presents an anagram of a phrase, and the following posters need to attempt to guess what that phrase is.  The person who finds the correct one first gets to make the next anagram, which we will attempt to solve like before.  This will go on forever, if we let it.

Now, here are some rules, so this doesn't get out of hand.

Now, let's get started, shall we?

I STOOD EBON SMUG TO

Edit by LPChip: I've added a rule against having a question as answer to make the game easier.

UNEARTHED MOM'S TOOTH

Oops, just realised I broke a rule by including punctuation. Too late now... but to atone for this, I'll add that the solution also includes an apostrophe.

HINT: the solution is a phrase most Knytt Stories aficionados would be familiar with.

Well, time's up! The solution was 'preantepenultimate', a basically obsolete word meaning fourth to last.

The next anagram is RAD BEAN GAMMA RAYS.

Ego, you cannot post another question before I've given a hint which I'll do tomorrow or after the next guess. (aside from that your 2nd answer is still not correct)

Apologies. I thought it would be alright since my first guess was disqualified.

It doesn't appear anyone else is going to post, so I'll give a hint now so the game can continue.

Title: Re: The Game of Anagrams
Post by: bulbapuck on May 04, 2013, 02:05:56
Well, it's been three days so here's a clue.

I changed the sentence slightly before posting as I figured it was too difficult. An anagram for the original sentence is " HI STONEY SELL ENTIRE KOI SWORD"

I had known storied hero.

And that's another three days, the answer was "I worked hard on this one". (and the original sentence "I worked tirelessly on this one")

Next anagram:
QUIET AUNT DIGS A TANK

Title: Re: The Game of Anagrams
Post by: sergiocornaga on May 07, 2013, 16:07:31
THE OUBLIETTE'S LUSH MIGHT.

Note that there is no apostrophe in the solution, as per the rules. It's just there to make the original phrase look more grammatically correct.
Title: Re: The Game of Anagrams
Post by: LPChip on May 07, 2013, 17:20:48
Actually the apostrophe says The oubliette is lush might, which seems more wrong than the oubliettes lush might.

 CARRION TACOS GET FEAT

I dunno, it sounds nasty to me.  Let's see if we can revive this game.  I'll do something simple and provide a few clues off the bat.

 KOOKY INPUT TECH PED

* The name of a level for Knytt Stories
* It's author has more than 10 stars
* It's not me. :P

Also, I updated the rules a little.

GO DO A FILAMENTOUS MESH IN THE COIF
This anagram is almost on the limit of length so i'm going to give an starting hint: This anagram is a phrase which references two Knytt Stories levels made by the same author.
