:O Will your computer stop working and stuff?
And I mean this folder :) :
Program Files (x86)
-
Your computer would probably still work, but you'd have reinstall a lot of software, maybe even some that came with the operation system.... I don't understand why you would want to but, I'm not going to test my theory.

evil, You can always try... :P

evil, You can always try... :P
I tried once, but it said I need permission to continue and I clicked "OK" and it said access denied or something like that..I have a administrator account too :(

it's impossible to delete the programs folder, windows, and users folders from within windows, it would crash the computer if it did.
btw, there are files in there ("common files" folder) that are always loaded into memory. therefore, no deleting them while in memory.

the windows and users folder are outside of my from my programs folder.

c\program files\common files is what he's talking about.
-
Why would you want to do this? You would be left with a useless brick of even less functional Windows.
-
You cannot delete a folder like that because there are programs running that were launched from inside those folders. If you however would not boot to windows, and then delete the folder (which is possible) windows will boot with some errors and alot of stuff will not work anymore. If you do that, you basically will need to reinstall windows.

If you delete the folder if its shut down, would it delete the startup files too? :O
-
Why would you do such a thing? That's not making sense whatsoever.
-
Well, you could get a Linux boot disk and use that to erase the data.
Or you could completely format the disk.
But the more important question is,
FOR THE LUVVA GOD WHY????
[mod]I removed the formatting on that last line: size, color and boldness. Its already caps. Making it more noticable than that is unnecessary for what you want to accomplish here.[/mod]
EDIT BY NON-MOD: Sorry :P I was trying to be ridiculously exaggerative, I know it wasn't needed

no, but you would not be able to boot fully, and yes it would need a reinstall

i must agree

This only could have sense if:
1.Evil its Crazy
2.Love of science
3.Profit a INSURANCE X-P
4.Revenge (If were talking of another computer)
-
If you delete program files you might as well be playing with grass.
-
Here are three easy steps to DESTROYING your C:programs file.
1) format your computer
2) take the hard drive out
3) pound the hell out of your computer until it stops working.
Seriously evil? You can't be that insane :sigh:

I dont want my computer to suffer a slow and painful death
Thats why I'm asking to delete my programs folder so the computer wont feel any physical pain.
-
Whuuuut.
* Dataflashsabot is very, very confused and the teensiest bit scared.

Not only does this scare me, but it wouldn't 'help' your computer in the slightest. Uninstall programs that are giving you trouble, don't remove folders; that'd make everything worse. As for the not wanting your computer to suffer...Well...I don't know what to do about that.

This isn't really a question concerning creativity. Or anything sensical, so I really don't know why this should stay open.
