I think I got this in the right board... <_<
Anyway I'm drawing a hand-drawn tileset to scan in and use, but I'm not sure how big to draw the squares on my paper. I need them big enough to draw detail, but resizing too much will cause the tileset to distort. What do you guys think?
Cheers,
TW
P.S: Does anyone know how many pixles to a cm/inch?

I'd say, draw them reasonably big and then scan them on in a low dpi setting and shrink the image in an image editor.
Note that your aim will be to get a tile of 24 pixels by 24 pixels. That's very small.
Perhaps it might be even better to use your drawings as a template and pixelpaint on top of your drawing once you scanned it in. That's the best way to ensure that you'll get optimal quality.

Thanks :)
I'll have a play around and see what looks best.

It's a resolution of 72 pixels per inch, so that's 1/3 of an inch or 0.846 centimeters for 24 pixels.

Thats kind of unimportant here. As long as the hand drawn tiles are square they can be resized to fit a tileset after the paper has been scanned.
Also, the ppi of an image can be changed without actually affecting how it is displayed digitally, so you can have a tileset with 400 ppi if you feel like it, and it will still work.

How do you render the lines out without taking part of it out?

Nifflas once posted a template...maybe he still has it somewhere or something?
