Title: [Hard][Large][Challenge/Puzzle/Action/Enemies] LPChip's Challenge

Only 6 days late from its intended release date and worked on for 5 years, LPChip's Challenge is a complete collection of every skill of every Nifforum user who worked on LPChip's Challenge. It is the final definite release of the level that is LPChip's 100 star level. LPCip's Challenge features and includes:

• Custom player skin and clothing color
• Open world linear design
• Cameos from everyone who worked in LPChip's Challenge. Every character is a fleshed out persona of a forum user with an elaborate backstory, a unique connection to the overall plot, and several dialogue trees
• Meet a new threatening villain who is the knytt with a blue wizard hat
• 9000 screens and 30 total combined hours of work
• Uses 27 different tilesets and 1 custom tileset
• Features a bonus area with the jump from Fubaka's "The impossible jump" (optional)
• 100 cutscenes, made by editing KS screenshots with the art program "MS Paint" (note: some cutscenes are the same)
• Features 25 or so areas, lost count
• Text-to-speech voice acting
• Not one but three areas using only tileset 6 in new and exciting new ways.
• Features one song by LPChip and 254 songs by Kevin MacLeod
• As a bonus includes the entirety of LPChip's album "floating through the fifth dimension" in FLAC format. oops
• Compatible with KS+

Oh wow, it came out!!!! I guess I have something planned now for the weekend. :D

As promise, I will record my playthrough and release it here. :) Thanks so much for the effort. It was made quite fast this level. Took only 5 years. :P

Okay, so this is not the 100 star level. *feels disappointed*. I have not had a chance to play it, but sounds like fun still.

However, it is distributing illegal content which is a concern to me. It does distribute some of my music, and although I am okay for this given the setting, it also does distribute a paid game, which unfortunately I cannot permit as you can understand. I'm okay with the fact that this is intended as a joke, and for that reason, I will allow the link to remain on the forum for a week to give members a chance to download it before the link is removed.

I don't mind the topic to exist with a message: please pm me for the link or something.

I hope you understand.

To avoid drawing any attention to this, I think it would be best to refrain from naming the game before the link is deleted.

Incidentally, can I ignore my antivirus program's warning that the cracked Steam API DLL is a PUP? It's probably a false positive, but you never know with pirated software. Then again, since I actually own the game on Steam, I probably wouldn't need it anyway.

Alright. I've played through the game from start to finish, recorded everything, no breaks or whatsoever and I realized the original game is not included, but this is more like a mod of the game which is completely different. I don't think my original statement still holds and that the link needs to be removed.

I'll post my play through video somewhere this weekend when I processed it. I wonder though, would people rather see an edited version where I cut out most of the (sometimes silly mistakes because I am a bit tired) or do they wish to see the whole run from start to finish with all deaths as if it were a livestream?

Leave your comments below, it'll influence my decision for editing or not. :)

Five bucks is quite a steal... honestly it's probably too little, the devs are barely stumbling by since the company that stole ownership of the Chip's Challenge franchise is taking a lot of the revenue and they have to pay them just to keep it on the store. I'd recommend buying everything there for the full 10 bucks without the discount if you can (although knowing that your money is ultimately making its way to a company that's screwing over the devs like crazy might fog up your conscience even more)

The crack intercepts the game's connection to the Steam API, which is why Steam doesn't try to boot up if you launch it without Steam already open and doesn't prevent you from playing if you haven't bought the game on Steam, so that's probably what it's picking up. Virus detectors tend to be overzealous regarding that.

So this is probably obvious by now, Chip, but the fact that this is distributed using a modified steam_api.dll that bypasses Steam's ownership check might actually make it legally dubious. I'd be fine with removing the link in a few days and putting a "pm me for info" notice in its place.

Also, I'd love to see the entire run. Maybe release the whole video and a version with the boring parts edited out?

Couldn't you just replace the ZIP file you uploaded with one that lacks the executable and DLL? That would reduce it to a mere mod that still requires buying the actual game to use.

Not a bad idea indeed. For now, lets keep this version up though, so people can play it who don't own the original version. (Me included)

@Canteven: can you write a small instruction for what one would need to do in order to play the game if these 2 files were missing from the package? You can PM me the text and I'll include that in the zip in a week or so, and remove those files.
