Finshed (I think) The cutscenes were EPIC.
should've used them in the picture game :P
and thanks for clearing that up yohji... yeah ur stuffs pretty sporadic so its understandable that there's alotta loop holes... and btw i'm assuming that all those powerups stuck in those triangular squares are unattainable right? or did i miss sumthing... cuz i did find one of the endings... hahaha by cheating :S i hopped through ur void screens up top :( now i gotta replay it lolz
anywho... judgements! dun dun duuuhn! i really like the concept of it all being a large cluster f@ck :) aside from the glitches... it coulda been longer... and more varied cluster f@ck atmospheres.
Allright, fixed that one void screen near the eye garden, here's map.bin again:

Thanks! Too bad those drawings took me forever to do, since I suck at drawing

Yeah, I know... I tried looking for tilesets that would look as nice scrambled as the one I used, but none fit.
As for endings,
There are two endings. Jumping into explosions (there are 3 in all, I think), like that guy near the starting point, gets you the bad ending, fish dead, silent waves. But there's also a good ending (fish saved and swimming away), which can be obtained by using the teleporter in one of the screens.
If you need more than that,
the teleporter is in the screen to the left of the "sea". You can only access it if you have the eye.
I've got 2 jumps powerups, run and an eye. What do I do now?
Walk into any of the explosions or find the true exit. You can only save the fish with the latter.
If you're having real trouble doing the latter,
the true exit is in the screen where you picked up the run powerup. The explosions are all over the place, one is almost below the starting point and has a guy standing inside of it.
I played/tried to play this recently but got thrown out rather abruptly, while still only having a couple of powerups. I'm not sure if that's supposed to be the ending?
There are two endings, one in which you save the fish, and one in which you don't save the fish (just shows an image with "water"). It's possible that you got the latter ending by wandering into one of the explosions here and there. One of the screens has a hint that an explosion is an exit (someone standing in it and yelling that they're saved).
However, if you collect all powerups, you can get the good ending; see the 2nd spoiler in my reply to GrayFace for its location. So it's all basically a situation in which a fish is in danger, and that's why a lot of people are yelling, why there's darkness spreading here and there, etc.
That said, I enjoyed the level - what I saw of it - rather more than I expected to. I've played a few other levels with a similar look and idea, and found them barely navigable; yours has the happy distinction of actually being navigable.
Also, there were some screens that were actually quite beautiful, in a surreal, fractured way.
The music was a nice touch, too.
Thank you! The surreal+fractured look and feel is exactly what I was aiming for, and I do have a few favorite screens that kind of stand out visually... Particularly in places one doesn't have to visit in order to complete the level, e.g. the pool in the lower levels, the leakage over the eye garden, etc.
I wonder what you'd think of Moonlight (which is purely environmental and very short)? I tried giving it more, um, of the beautiful beautiful fractured quality.
Also, I wasn't aware of any other levels that tried the same idea, could you point me to one or two?
Well, the "same idea" is probably overstating the case a bit - I was mainly referring to the very fractured, non-coherent visual impression. There's a level called "Find the Bug" by Lingon which has a bit of that going on, and then, there's another level that I'd rather not talk about as it's a hidden secret within another level. *g* I never finished either of those.
If you must know: it's a bonus level hidden in the final version of bunnrey's "Caves".
Eh, I thought there was a spoiler somewhere in the topic where I explained stuff, but apparently there isn't, or I can't find it. Anyway, it kind of had to have that dialogue, because the entire plot is this: you're somehow inside a mind/body construct of the dying fish, and the people aren't really people, just, I don't know, various functions of the body, cells, etc. The darkness is death spreading, the ghosts are those functions of the body or cells that no longer function, and so on. You could say the water area is a damaged part of the body, I guess. I've no idea what the eye garden is, though. Perhaps it's the actual mind of the fish, and that lady you can't talk to is the actual personification of the mind.
Most of the level I designed with no particular goal or story in mind, but then the story sort of happened and fit nicely... I thought I implemented it badly with those animations being too explanatory, but apparently I was wrong <_<
