I only have one problem with the map so far: the buttons with a laser and a jumping spiky dude protecting them are GODDAMN ANNOYING. They pop up everywhere and they are not very challenging, just tedious. The only difficulty is if my hand slips because I lost my concentration from watching the same exact screen for HALF AN HOUR. Spending an inordinate time on a puzzle because it's difficult is one thing, spending an inordinate amount of time because that's how long the puzzle takes to complete is unforgivable. Get rid of them.

Really nice level. Not much I can say about it that hasn't been said before, but I really enjoyed it.

Thanks. I found the was past. Now I'm stuck in Part 6, where there are two rooms that fill with water over time and a door that leads to a purple room with a spike trap and no exit.

How do I beat the level in Part 3 where I end in a small room with nowhere to move and Kirby kills me with a laser?

Uh... it's available for download as freeware ON THE CREATORS' WEBSITE. How more obvious does it need to be?

Legend of Kyrandia and its two sequels are all incredibly awesome. I advise getting them wherever you can, even if they aren't legally freeware.

Why are you being challenged with gameplay that doesn't conform to your expectations? WAAAH! :crying smiley:
Yes, I suppose I should just get used to bad design instead, huh? <_<
You don't like it /= bad design.

This game is not good.
Why do I have to press S to stop? Why am I forced to go through all of those tutorials just to learn how to aim and click? Why does the camera scroll up automatically, but not down? Why is the game so slow? Where is the fun? Why does it take so long to walk anywhere?
I'm sure I could find even more stuff to complain about if I played it more, but I generally don't play games that manage piss me off withinin the first 20 seconds of gameplay. :/

The laser room with the purple key is insane. I beat other Lunatic levels, but I just can't get past it. I think you might have made it too hard.

OK, still playing. Things are looking good so far, large level, lots of good detail. Just found one problem so far: you can get to the hologram room with the double jump alone. If you do that and save in that room, you find that there's no way you can leave (that requires high jump), and so the only thing left to do is to restart the game.

Yes, I noticed that too and fixed it. It's now possible to exit the hologram area without having the high jump.

@Xia: That's why I always tried to clearly indicate where the floors are with lava and grey walls in the background. I included the tilesets in the level folder, uploading now.

EDIT: The archive won't recognize the file as a Knytt level with the tilesets in it, so I uploaded a changed version without them. They're all default tilesets anyway, so it's not really my fault if your copy has something else in their place.

Here it is: The Deep Pit v2

Just started playing. I assume this wasn't intentional, but
Spoiler: (click to show/hide)
If this was intentional, well, there are void screenы above the first screen that you can reach using that.
Still? I never got it when I tried jumping there, so I assumed that I made it unreachable enough. Now this is why I put the level up for testing. I'm not actually very good at hard jumps and stuff, so I miss these kinds of things. Thank you. I've changed it, but I'd like to wait for a full bug/glitch report before uploading a fixed version so I don't clutter the archive with nearly-identical copies.

Yesterday I asked some people for some help regarding a level I was making. Now enough of it is complete that I feel confident in releasing it for testing.

This is the first alpha demo of my first ever Knytt Stories level, The Deep Pit. It has three and a half short areas, minimal plot and a very variable difficulty. I marked it as Hard because there are a few parts that in my opinion deserve that difficulty, but they are mostly optional (like getting keys, which do nothing yet, but which will open secret areas in the full version) and the third area is practically a cakewalk where you can only die if you try to.

No custom resources were used, only Nifflas' tilesets and music.

Here are a few screenshots:

The first key and the second easiest to get. Also the first area.

Part of the second area. Actually, I really like how this screen came out.

The pointless screen. Another part of the second area and my favourite screen. Currently it's just there to look good, but later there will be a shift to a short hidden area in the small recess to the right.

The third area. Currently not much, but I will expand on it later.

And finally, here's the download: The Deep Pit

Don't post topics with nondescript titles. Topics with titles like "Help!" or "I have a noob question..." are often pretty useless. When you have a problem, give as much information about it as you can, so people know what you are talking about and give it a helpful title so that people who might have a similar problem can easily find your topic via the search.

Please edit your topic to have a more descriptive title. (Even if it's long and awkward.) ;)
Sorry. It had a descriptive title, but then that question has been answered and so the title wasn't really descriptive anymore.

I have a second, incredibly noobish question.

How do I make a .knytt.bin file out of a level?
