ii) equal number of molecules of the substances of iron and feather (assume 'feather' is composed entirely of the protein with empirical molecular formula C400H620N100O120P1S1).He means this :sigh:
What's heavier, when taking:They're equal. I think.
i) equal amounts of iron and feathers
ii) equal number of molecules of the substances of iron and feather (assume 'feather' is composed entirely of the protein with empirical molecular formula C400H620N100O120P1S1).
Bonus points for showing the magnitude of difference, if any.
I assume he means volume.
That's what I'm guessing.I assume he means volume.
If so I think that a) is bigger. Since.. um I think in this case that a feather in a) contains air molecules while b) doesn't. Otherwise.. I have no idea. Wild guess btw I suck at these things.
i) equal amounts of iron and feathersiron is heavier by mass
ii) equal number of molecules of the substances of iron and feather (assume 'feather' is composed entirely of the protein with empirical molecular formula C400H620N100O120P1S1).I'm guessing one molecule of iron would be Fe, and therefore have a lesser atomic weight per molecule than 1342.
6. An eye? That's what I thought initially as well, but
And two only in me.Oh, wait.. *facepalm* Nevermind.
I think this is really just a variation on the "Which is heavier, a pound of bricks or a pound of feathers?" riddle. If thats the case, they're both equal.Yes it's a variation, but they aren't equal.
Purple Pinapple is totally right. No I'm not. I stated 1342 under the assumption that every element has atomic weight 1. :P
No I'm not.I knew I shouldn't have trusted you so easily.
13 riddles. How many can you solve? =DC'mon, is it even LEGAL to kill topics with posting too many riddles?
Its new riddle time!
A young peasant wanted to marry the king's daughter. The king didn't like the idea of his daughter marrying a peasant, but he wanted to appear fair in front of his subjects. The king said he would put two pieces of paper into a hat, one reading EXILE and the other reading MARRIAGE. You know why. Later that day, the peasant overheard the king saying both pieces of paper would read EXILE, thus ensuring that the peasant would be out of his way for good. The peasant remained undaunted and, as arranged, arrived at the king's court where a large crowd gathered for the big event. The peasant then did something that assured him the hand of the king's daughter. What did he do?
He ate the first paper he pulled.but he was pretty much close to it so i know what he meant.
You have a bag of 32 green gems, and 32 red gems. How many gems to you need to remove from the bag to ensure you have two different colours?62?
So what. Its still a riddle.Algebra doesn't count as riddles.
No, 33 was the right answer. It depends on what you mean.
Anyway, new riddle!
Think of words ending in -GRY. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in the English language. What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses every day. If you have read carefully, I have already told you what it is.
kaizoman666, you ought to wait until it is confirmed that old age is the right answer. What if it wasn't?If it wasn't, we would just have two riddles to answer.
New riddle, and also, I live in the UK... so...They took a jog afterward, so they lost a pound. =D *is wrong*
Three people go into a restaurant and order a meal, the bill comes to £25. They each give £10, the waiter brings back £5 change. They each take back £1, and leave the remaining £2 for the waiter as a tip.
So, they gave £10 and got £1 back, which means they spent £9 each. OK £9 x 3= £27 + £2 (for the waiter) = £29. What happened to the missing pound ?
I've heard this riddle countless times and it's always so hard to explain the answer.
Each person gave £10 and got back £1. The left side there (£27) is how much they gave to the restaurant. The middle is the amount of money they gave, plus the tip they gave to the waiter. Thus, the tip got double counted. Remove the extra tip and your left with £27, the price of the meal (what the restaurant receives) plus the tip (what the waiter receives).
You're in an indestructible room with no windows and no doors. All that's in there is a table and a mirror. How do you get out?You look in the mirror and see what you saw. You take the saw and cut the table in half. Two halves make a whole. You jump in the hole and escape.
Walk through the empty doorway.Correct.
Ah, I didn't really expect someone to get it that quickly. Here's one that actually is a whodunnit... ;)Spoiler: (click to show/hide)
Gorf nailed the reason. By placing the pistol on the table, the policeman implied that the man had been shot. Only the murderer would have know that he was hit in the head.Whatever. I still got the basic reason.
What is the new password? And what was the old one?
''Hey boss, my password is out of date.''
''Yes, that is right. The password is different,
Bringing back powers!Give SlingSurfer a boot to the head, 'cause this ain't a riddle. =D
Someone tries to offer you funyons, but they say "No! Those are my funyons!" What do you do?
Bringing back powers!
Someone tries to offer you funyons, but they say "No! Those are my funyons!" What do you do?
Sounds more like the answer's gonna be a pun to me.Bringing back powers!Give SlingSurfer a boot to the head, 'cause this ain't a riddle. =D
Someone tries to offer you funyons, but they say "No! Those are my funyons!" What do you do?
But.. how do you get out of their stomach? You're still in the mouth. In case you didn't notice, but SS doesn't say "Someone has swallowed you". Just "Someone eats you slowly".
Human saliva is composed of 98% water, while the other 2% consists of other compounds such as electrolytes, mucus, antibacterial compounds, and various enzymes. As part of the initial process of food digestion, the enzymes in the saliva break down some of the starch and fat in the food at the molecular level. Its not very fast, but its still digestion.

So, new riddle:
A chest without hinges, key, or lid, but inside golden treasures are hid. What is the chest and what is the treasure?
1. What comes next in this series of numbers:
1
11
21
1211
111221
312211
13112221
2. If I say "Everything I tell you is a lie," am I telling you the truth or a lie? That is not a riddle, its a paradox. If you are telling the truth, then the statement is a lie, and is not the truth, and is therefor the truth, etc.
3. What English word retains the same pronunciation, even after you take away four of its five letters?Aitch? I'm not a native speaker, so my vocabulary is kind of limited.
2) If the statement is anything, it's false. It cannot be true, for that would make it self-contradictory. If it is false, that would imply that something said by the speaker is truthful, which is not necessarily true. If not, then th estatement is neither true nor false.True causes a paradox. False doesn't. Case closed.
3) queueWell, that's a French word that's been assimilated into English.
Razzorman got the first 2, Deep Embrace got the last one.Lessee...Giant space lasers, leprechauns, Smurfs, Austin Powers, OBJECTIONS, basketball...That's all I got.
SO, can you solve this one?
I turn polar bears white and I will make you cry.
I make guys have to pee and girls comb their hair.
I make celebrities look stupid and normal people look like celebrities.
I turn pancakes brown and make your champane bubble.
If you sqeeze me, I'll pop. If you look at me, you'll pop.
Can you guess the riddle?
Can you guess the riddle?No.
No.You are correct. :awsum:
Amirite?
New riddle to keep the thread alive while people mull over kaizo's riddle:I already solved that one. :P
Uh... the riddles have to be able to be answered correctly. And you don't think it can be? :P
100 blue eyed people leave on the 100th day.Can you explain how you came to that conclusion?
Also, to prevent people from using Google, reword the riddle.Nah, its too long. :P
Nah, its too long. :PWell, you only have to reword a little bit. As long as parts of the riddle aren't the same, Google will have trouble finding it. So, new riddle:
Guess 1: They are Frence so there is no logic behind their actions.
Guess 2: good food?
None. You throw all 1,000 in a room and say, "The poisoned bottle is in there. I found it." :awsum:Close, but incorrect.
Wait, no.. 10.Edit: The ceiling of log21000
Am I correct in thinking each prisoner can only be tested once in the 24 hour interval? No. Each prisoner can be tested as many times as needed, but you need a way to determine which bottle has the poison.
So can you find a way to test a prisoner twice?Am I correct in thinking each prisoner can only be tested once in the 24 hour interval? No. Each prisoner can be tested as many times as needed, but you need a way to determine which bottle has the poison.
And also, Deep Embrace, you've got the right concept but no answer.Assign binary numbers, divvy up the prisoners in half and half again.. however you do it, it takes 10 prisoners minimum.
Nope, its possible with less. I'll give you a hint: Convert 1000 from decimal to binary.
10
If you assign each bottle with a binary number between 1 and 999 (0000000001 and 1111100111), and assign 10 prisoners to a letter, you can make a sort of grid.
Each prisoner drinks from every bottle that has a 1 in their column.
When the prisoners die, you make a number with 1's for the prisoners that died, and 0's for the rest. That is your bottle.
Oh, and if none of them die, its the bottle that you didn't test.
We are tiny, well-known creatures,
All with special sounds and features:
The first of us in glass is met,
And the next is found in jet;
A third that can be find in tin,
And the fourth a box within;
If the last you should pursue,
We have already given a clue.
Could you tell us the answer to the last one?Seconded.
