Saira / Re: Tweaking the controls
« on: December 21, 2009, 04:31:09 »
In the Saira folder there's a file called Settings.exe which, if you open up, gives you the option to change control settings as well as some other options.

Actually, settings.exe only allows you to remap the Photograph, Jump, Interact and Close keys, not the direction keys.

That said, someone else may know of another way to change the mapped keys.

Help! I'm Stuck! / Re: Hulton

Double Edit: Nevermind, unless someone can tell me how to spoiler an attachment.
That would be impossible.

But photobucket.com is an awesome place.  ;)

Ye-eah, I've had a PB account for years, but I also haven't used it for years. Just decided to stop showing certain photos randomly. Thanks, though.

Help! I'm Stuck! / Re: Hulton

I've been here for over an hour now. I figured out everything so far, but I can't get the code to terminal 2. The greek letters one. I've searched all over here and as far as I can on the other planet in the system with the two nonfunctioning devices, and can't find a single hint. Can someone please help? I know it will be a really obvious answer I'll feel stupid about.

Same problem here. How to fix these devices?

If you're wondering how to turn them on:
Spoiler: Terminal 1 Unlock (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Terminal 2 Unlock (click to show/hide)

If your trouble is actually operating them, then the hints above should be sufficient for finding the passwords.

Edit: Dial, I've attached a screenie of the Greek letter solution.

Double Edit: Nevermind, unless someone can tell me how to spoiler an attachment.

Ah! The warm fuzzies that come from this thread are overpowering! Go, Niff Support Squad, Go!  X) You guys rock! I personally will have to wait a bit to get the game, since my AP History grade wasn't so good for the quarter, but when I do get my hands on it I plan on getting a friend code. So if Karooble or someone doesn't get one by then... well, I'll probably have en extra!

Just so you know, a thread dedicated to goodwill key giving has been created here. Feel free to offer your spare key in that thread when you get one.

Glad I could start a good Samaritan trend here!

Still no word back from Candlelight on whether or not he/she is interested in my extra key.
I'm sorry for the delay, I had some studying to do... by the way, Muttroid sent me his key (thanks a lot, man!! I owe you one!)

No problem, glad I could help! Don't forget to do something for the dogs and cats at your local animal shelter. Pay that key forward!

EDIT: Another one here:

Is the little bird one of those tiny black-with-white-eyes, moving things on Dragon Noir? My monitor's kinda dark, so I couldn't make out much detail.

Actually I had the little bird-like creatures on Lomond in mind.  :P

Ahhh, of course! To be honest, though, on my first playthrough, I thought they were little one-eyed balls with legs, rather than side-on birds. I couldn't make out the beaks, but I spotted it just then when I went back to check. Cool!

Saira / Re: Saira 1.1 is released!
« on: December 15, 2009, 17:53:38 »
Also, how do I "update" to 1.1? Do I have to find my save files and back them up, then uninstall and reinstall?

I think this is explained on the download page. Seems pretty straightforward.

Upgrade

To upgrade the non-portable (installer) version of the game, you can install the new version over the old one. To upgrade a portable (zip) version of the game, extract the new version of the game into a new folder and move the Settings folder from the old version to the new one.

Spoiler: Smile! (click to show/hide)

Is it wrong that all I can think of when I look at that wonderful piece of art is the Flying Spaghetti Monster? :P2

Aha! I knew I should've check my junkmail box! My second code came at the same time as the first (which makes sense, really).

PM being sent to Candlelight!

(I feel like I need a chimney to climb down... XD)

You guys are such nice people, it's not often that one finds such solidarity, especially directed towards people who are almost complete strangers. It's actions like those that still give me some faith in the world. :)

You both have my deepest respect. :)

Aw, shucks, t'ain't nothing, sure. If the people I know aren't cool enough to enjoy a good, atmospheric platform/explorer game, I figure someone should benefit from my purchase, and who better than someone on the forums?

Saira / Re: Anyone else beat it yet?
« on: December 14, 2009, 23:23:32 »
Kind of short for a game that actually costs money, but since I never donated before I'll just look at it like I was paying for all the fun I've had with his previous games at the same time.

That's the way I looked at it, too. I think paying 19 bucks as thanks for the many hours that Saira, Knytt, Knytt Stories, Within A Deep Forest, A Strange Dream, etc. is perfectly reasonable. Particularly if there'll be further episodes yet to come. It's like a debt paid and an investment all in one!

As for me, I sat down around 2 PM to play the demo, bought the game around 3 PM and finished about half an hour ago (shortly before 6 PM). All in all, it was a great afternoon!  C)p Saw all 6 endings, and managed to spot a couple of the secrets they're talking about over in the Secrets thread. I might try fiddling with the F12 debug later this evening, seeing what fun stuff I can find!

Saira - Challenges / Re: Pinball!

My top pinball score is 16 900. Much like Exp HP, that was my first time playing it, having absolutely no clue what I was doing after accidentally tabbing over to Game. I think my top score since then was 8 000.
