I think I read that people will not be able to comment on your levels through KL.com, is this true?
Once I got that working correctly, I will start adding the ability to upload levels. After that, I will make something to query the levels using different ways, like: by author, date added (newest), then I'll add support for commenting on a level, cus at that stage you'll actually be able to browse them. Then I will add a rating system, and from there I probably take requests.
Erm, why are we switching from having a third party levels board to having a separate website in the first place? :S
Erm, why are we switching from having a third party levels board to having a separate website in the first place? :SBecause you will be able to browse the levels much more easily, it will have a rating sytem so that you can find good levels easily, unlike the current site, you will be able to delete oder versions of levels... Just advantages, really, I can't see why people are so skeptic about this, since you will be able to do everything you used to (upload and comment levels) and a lot more.
Guys. Remember you can say that your finished level is on Knyttlevels, or (if I remember correctly) change a preview thread into a level thread once you are done.
mind elaborating on what your personal opinion is, then?
As far as I've been concerned, the third-party levels board suited its purposes quite well enough (and, for that matter, was what many people seemed to come to the forum for).
[...]
But still, I feel like this was an unnecessary project for whomever to start on just to... make something look cool? I don't even know.
The main reason I'm unreceptive to this is that levels will get much less attention. With the forum, people can chat about all aspects of a level, with topics reaching over 5 pages for really good levels. It's very rewarding for a designer to see one of his levels generating a lot of gossip.
With the archive, such levels will probably get around 30 comments over the course of a few days, and then it will almost completely stop. This sort of thing happens with every custom level archive I've ever seen, so I doubt this one will be different.

So once, the New Knytt Levels Archive is done, are we going to be able to link to a file we put on Knytt Levels or is that a no no? Are we going to be able to discuss a level on this site that is uploaded to KL or is commenting strictly limited to the archive site? The point is that commenting will be limited to the archive. :S
So what? So far, commenting was limited to the subforum! What's the big difference? You even use the same account! Really, start complaining when it's done, if you have to. Until then, stop it, because it will only serve to demotivate LPChip. You aready have your temporary subforum...So once, the New Knytt Levels Archive is done, are we going to be able to link to a file we put on Knytt Levels or is that a no no? Can you put a commenting feauture thingy on kslevels.com when you're done with everything and have nothing to do? :D?
because I dont want to be downloading really ..weird levels D:
I'm glad to see this is still working. Have you yet defined a site map?
Sitemaps define what links will lead where. They're a commonly used organization tool for websites.I'm glad to see this is still working. Have you yet defined a site map? What do you mean as a sitemap?
That happens if you fully utilise your upload speed. To combat this, use a program to limit your upload, and put the max upload just below what you can reach.hmm, sounds interesting... know anywhere I can get some kind of limiter?
Say: you can reach up to 497kb, then set it to 495kb.
For downloading, you also need an upload connection, as every several bytes require you to send a verification byte. If your upload is full, the verification byte is being queued, making your internet download being queued too.
I still can't give you an estimated releasedate though, but I thought an update would be wanted. :)<_<
LPChip, is the new knyttlevels done soon?Could be...
how much have you done?Alot...
when will it be finished? When its done.
google for a program called NetLimiter. That happens if you fully utilise your upload speed. To combat this, use a program to limit your upload, and put the max upload just below what you can reach.hmm, sounds interesting... know anywhere I can get some kind of limiter?

The forum is better than the level portal. There this game thats called SMF (super Mario flash)I think that turned bad for completely different reasons (http://nifflas.ni2.se/forum/index.php?topic=1123.msg11732#msg11732).
It has a level editor where we shared are levels on the forum. People could comment on are levels a tell us if there good or not. Same thing with the forum. But the the owner of the forum made a horrible level portal because he wasn't listening to his members (even his mods)
The everythin g got ruined and a mod made another forum just like it where he and Guard were admins. (Princess Daisy/Amanda became a admin later) Anyway keep the section for completed knytt stories. its for the good of your users.
I recon you guys should just stop asking and take a chill pill.Yeah, well, I took a bit of my own advice and swallowed one myself
after all the mafia games, I have also seen that trend... :PElderSalmoneous is like that. Random and straight-forward. Just accept it.
Uhh, guys, it was sarcasm. So you're saying Salmoneous doesn't want it finished?
No. Damn it. Finish it.
*Puts a spoon in my mouth and a pot on my head.*
You're acting like a jerk. Do you really want to be threated like one?Ya, He did the same thing with my level release (This looks dull and boring like ive played it a thousand times). Take your time with the advance level archive to make it its best :)
