Granted! But you will hear it playing everywhere all the time and no one else but you will hear it.

I wish pizza magically appears whenever I feel like eating some.

Knytt Stories / Re: Secret Level Tips
« on: October 28, 2014, 05:36:25 »
Dessgeega's levels are really beautiful - they are my favorite levels (especially The Oubliette and Under a Crack). Fegon's Temple of the Sun and Yggdrasil are also worth looking into. And A Walk at Night by Quincent Cartographer. Have fun!  :^^:

Thanks Pfrangip, Sergiocornaga and Kira! Glad you liked it. Indeed, it is too short, but I hoped that it fostered some sort of longing on the player - like the way Juni longed to see her cat again, but she couldn't. [wails]  X-P

Knytt Stories - Custom Content / Re: Teper's tilesets
« on: October 10, 2014, 02:49:34 »
Um, is it just me or are the tilesets and screenshots gone? When I click on the spoilers they're just empty. I checked other threads to see if the spoilers tag is working and it seems to be working. Except for this one. I really want to see Teper's other tilesets - all I know is Provence...

Knytt Stories - Custom Content / Re: knytt co's
« on: October 02, 2014, 06:03:22 »
These COs are awesome, Salmoneous! I particularly love the girl in the pink dress.

I have a question, though:

Why is it that when I place them in the editor, they don't appear at all? I've ticked "show custom objects", but still nothing. Even the tiny rectangular box saying "obj1" and so on doesn't appear. Just an empty space.

They work, though. I put the codes in the world.ini, by the way. So when I test the level, they're there, being adorably animated and stuff. But they just won't show up in the editor. Any ideas?

Very nice and polished level. It suggests a distinct authorial style that has me looking forward to The Journey Home (or any future levels from you). In particular I liked your attention to detail putting in messages for pointlessly interacting with doors, the frequent humour and wit of the text (like the umbrella line and Dinosaur Park signs), your in-world justification for having Juni walk for so long, and how you ultimately handled the run power-up. The fact that the title/level subverts the 'find Juni's cat' trope that is used in so many Knytt Stories levels is also excellent; intentional?

A criticism of sorts: I find it hard to play the game and keep track of the words at the same time, or even alternately. Thinking about it, I had similar issues when playing I Chased the Moon. It makes me wonder how effective it is using titles in KS+ for more complicated narrative purposes...

Thank you! I did a playback of my level, and you know what? It IS kind of hard to focus on the words if Juni's too busy doing jumps and umbrella tricks. I suppose maybe it would be better if Juni's just running/walking without distractions, just like Egomassive said. I suppose less complicated platforms and screens with solid ground would be more effective so the player can focus on the narrative.

Thank you for your output, you guys.  Will keep them in mind for future levels. C)

Also, yes, the "missing cat" trope it was kind of intentional on my part, except, well, the cat has gone and simply cannot be found again. I've always been in love with cat bank object/animation (not sure what to call it, since it's not really a CO if it's part of the base knytt game, is it?) and there were so many missing cat levels and I wanted to make another level about a "missing" cat without finding the cat as the end goal.

Thank you, Egomassive and Talps!

As for the bright tileset, I was trying to make it out like Juni's mood was gloomy at the start then she'll eventually feel brighter somewhat, so I used the gray city tileset, followed by brighter tilesets.  Something like that. XD

I made a short level. I'm supposed to be working on "The Journey Home," but I got side-tracked and made this level. It's an environmental level. I tried to make it scenic. And a little sad.

Plot: Juni has lost her cat.

I'd love to hear (read?) what you guys think.

Just two screenies, since the level's too short.  :^^:

EDIT: Knytt Stories Plus (by Egomassive) is needed to play this level.

Also, I just realized that it doesn't have an info screen, so I re-uploaded it:

I am, I am! Just... really, really slow. Life has caught up with me, LOL. Nonetheless, I work on it whenever I can.  :)

Hi! I've been working for a long time on a level - although it has been painfully slow, to be honest - and I just want to share some screenshots. There aren't a lot of screens yet, but I've been able to work on getting inside some of the houses.  :^^:

"The Journey Home"

Plot: A small village finds a girl in the forest, unconscious. They take her in and when she wakes up, she barely remembers anything. This is her journey home.

Also, a shoutout to Imaddo, Elder, Smashy and Salmoneous who made the tilesets you can see in the screenshots.  They're all awesome. Cheers! :juni:

OMG Demon Contract! That is the level with the previews containing subways/trains!!! Aaaaw you guys abandoned it? Too bad. I was in love with how it looked!  <3

Development Showcase / A Sketch--Almost Like Her But Not Her
« on: January 03, 2011, 14:50:10 »
I finished this artwork just today, and I am quite proud of it--that I had to show it to someone. I had been reading the Chobits manga and watching the Chobits anime, so I guess it kind of looks like Chii--although it's not her. :D

Here it is!

Hi guys, I'm making a new level, and I am using Elders Woodcutter tileset, and I really want to use the people in the tileset--but if I use them, I would have to sacrifice other tileset elements, because I've used up all the layers. The grass is in layer 2, the houses and trees are in layer 1, and the background mountains are in layer 0. I really want to use the people as standing under the trees or in front of their houses, but I can't do that unless I make the people into custom objects.

Is it okay for me to make them into custom objects? Elder will still be credited and everything, of course. Does anybody know if I should contact him/her for this? Does anyone know how I may contact him/her?

And thanks! :D

Knytt Stories / Re: Does Anyone Have These Levels?
« on: November 25, 2010, 06:32:19 »
While reading another post, I remembered I had a backup of a bunch of levels; Revelation by Si was among them. I've uploaded it to Knyttlevels.

Revelation by Si

Thank you! :)
