Within a Deep Forest / within a DOOMed forest
« on: July 03, 2022, 22:55:32 »
I was replaying WADF today when I came across some acapella tracks from MF DOOM... I thought they fit really well, so I had some fun with it.
His music and the older Nifflas games make me feel nostalgic in the same type of way.

Anyway, thought I'd share in case anyone else loves DOOM as much as they do WADF. :)

« on: July 11, 2013, 01:18:56 »
Hello! I'm sure this topic exists somewhere, but I couldn't find it.

Anyway, I was looking for additional bank icons for the Custom Objects bank, and since I couldn't find any, I made them.

Simply replace your Bank 255 folder with mine, attached below

Enjoy :)

Knytt Underground / High jump
« on: January 17, 2013, 00:37:56 »
In many areas, it's possible to bounce one tile higher than intended by having mi crawl up into a right angle, jumping at the ceiling, and transforming at just the right moment. Has anyone else noticed this, or any potential uses?

Knytt Underground / Red Line Glitch
« on: January 03, 2013, 02:08:55 »
I haven't explored this enough to find a good usage, mostly because it's difficult to pull off in most areas. This one is just from the Void secret in Figure Space. It can be done elsewhere in the figure, though. Not sure about the other figures and interlude.

Knytt Underground / A few questions
« on: December 28, 2012, 00:02:09 »
How do you use the other disorder crystals, and do they have different properties?

Also, can someone maybe hint at the location of the enigma? It can be a very vague hint, but something like "it's in the disorder" or "it's in mini figure" would be very helpful.

Thanks!

Knytt Underground / how do YOU Knytt Underground?
« on: December 25, 2012, 02:47:32 »
Hello! I was just wondering about different play styles for KU. Such a massive game is bound to have several methods of completion.
I'm trying to get a basic map of the entire area first, opening all secret rooms and doors, but leaving quests aside (as much as I can.)
Then I'm hoping I'll be able to be more efficient in quest solving.

What about you?
Have you been reckless with your crystals yet? Bartering around coins?
discuss :)

Knytt Stories - Custom Content / CO Request; Rolling Fog
« on: November 14, 2012, 08:24:40 »
Hello!
I am in need of a foggy co that would work in a rainy forest. I can make it myself, but it likely won't turn out very well if I do, so I am wondering if the community has made, has access to, or perhaps will make (:P + <3) one?
Something that is rather thin and covers predominately the middle of the screen is preferable, something sitting above the ground (between 3-5 tiles up) and below the trees (about 5-7 tiles above the ground)

Thanks!

Hi there!
These are the first 11 screens from my upcoming level, A long walk.
Better known by its old name, Wild World, this level was lost long ago (explained in the preview topic)

Since I've commenced rebuilding it, I thought it might be nice to release at least a short preview of the story. This preview reveals basic plot and demonstrates one of the lovely tilesets Egomassive has made for the level. There's a lot more to the story than what is revealed, so hopefully this isn't to much of a spoiler :)

Oh and also, I don't really know how to incorporate this but icicle kindly made me this depiction of Juni in the Savanna area. I'll probably just post it along with the official release.

Please send forth your comments,

Development Showcase / Riddles and Songs of Mahogany Town

hello! A while ago I challenged myself to write a short story. The rules were to use the full setting of a game, cartoon, movie or other form of creative work while using none of its plot or characters. I finally finished, some year and a half later. Commentary would be greatly appreciated. :)

FiNCK / FiNCK in VMWare Fusion 4?
« on: February 01, 2012, 03:56:12 »

it's playable, but it flashes rapidly between what appear to be zoomed in sprites and the actual game.
Time lags a tad, but it's possible that that just has to do with processing speed.
Thoughts?

NightSky / Night Sky HD?
« on: December 26, 2011, 21:34:04 »
Hey, sorry, but I have a couple confusions..
First, the hd is still in beta and the bug child forum is only for beta testers, right?
Second, was any sort of release information posted? Like, for example, will this be the mac compatible c++ version?
Thanks, and sorry, couldn't find an info sticky anywhere..

NightSky / Re-purchase?
« on: June 15, 2011, 20:16:02 »
My hard drive fried somehow and I am unable to retrieve anything.
I bought Night Sky before the Steam version was available..
Do I have to re-purchase, or is there a way for me to re-download it?

How do I get through?
Thanks :P

NightSky / Couldn't find another topic...
« on: January 13, 2011, 02:07:06 »
...For appreciation.
It was greatly anticipated, and I will admit my first impression was a slight disappointment due to the size.
However, it quickly became apparent that I'd reconsider those feelings..
And this is definitely among my favorite games :D
Almost every level had an area where I'd just stop and look at the screen, listen to the music and enjoy the view..
Very ambient, very beautiful.
Great job (again), Nifflas!
:)

NightSky / A (NS equivalent) Wallswim.
« on: January 09, 2011, 00:38:44 »
A bug, perhaps?
The very first time I played the level, the two hammers struck me at the same time, sending me flying above the screen, landing in the wall after a few seconds of flight.
I tried to do it again, but couldn't get back up. I could get launched into the air, though..
I could move around with normal physics, but either side of the wall had a one pixel thin barrier keeping me from falling back down.

Edit:
Green=approximate flight pattern if anyone is trying it..
