On your level either in the beginning cutscene, ending cutscene, or the info screen.

Try :
www.lastfm.com
Sign up, search and valla! (that word) There was another site, but I forgot it.
And I'm too lazy to give links.
Edit: it's turned to a link. NVM.

ooh one more thing, if i credit them can it be somewhere inside the level?
You know? not just the opening and ending slides
-
I think so, but nobody has done it before, so i'm not sure.
-
The Great Race has in-level credits.

The Great Race has in-level credits.
so...we CAN ?
-
as long as the credits are likely to be seen, I would say yes. That means, you can put them INTO the level, but it wouldn't really be fair nor make much sense if you hid them in some super-secret area that nobody is likely to find or explore.

I took my Chevy to the leve but the leve was dry. X3
Nah, just kidding. Paula is right: you have to put the credits somewhere they're likely to be seen.

If you don't want to credit people for the music you use, make the music yourself, or find someone who agrees to have his music used without credit.
I don't see why you wouldn't want to credit the artist though. They supply you with music (for FREE) that you can use in your level, and you don't even want to have a little "Tunes by Soandso"?
-
And if you don't credit people, most people will assume you made the music, which is somewhat similar to lying.
It doesn't take much to give credits. Either at the intro or the end, and you're done. You can suffice with just one screen and all the text on it if you don't want to spend much time on it.

If all else fails, you could try looking some at my personal archive: http://www.f0nk.com (http://www.f0nk.com)
Lots of random stuff there.
And sorry for the shameless spam. :)

Indeed. (At least for Newgrounds, all of the music on there is released under a Creative Commons license.)
